Punk Patch
by Travis Clough (he/they)
Audio Transcript:
This wallhanging is centered around this really cool punk patch I picked up at an anarchist book fair while living out west in the mid-2000s.
After years of hanging on to it, it finally occurred to me to make a wallhanging using leftover quilting blocks and scraps.
This piece is comprised of leftover blocks from quilts that I made for my mother, my friends Tam and Tony, and the 5 stars at the bottom are from a class I took on star patterns while living in San Fransisco. It’s backed with a vintage Cabbage Patch Kid bedsheet.
Travis (he/they) is a queer and trans bag maker and quilter who comes from a large family of Maine quilters.
